The beginning of Wisdom
Is
Knowing who you are.
Draw near and listen.
   --Swahili Proverb

In keeping with the Swahili Proverb, the children
should draw near and listen to their own elders,
not those of another group who do harm, intentionally
or unintentionally, by devaluing the cultural
roots of the children. It's bad enough that that
devaluation takes place already in the schools and
in the mass media of the society at large. If in
addition, it takes place in the home, however well
meaning might be the adoptive parents, I see only
tragedy as the ultimate result.
