What is the Youth Conference?

The Second Annual Youth Conference will help bring Milwaukee area youths
together and provide a positive forum for discussing important issues with
their peers. The conference workshops will focus on "The Role of Culture
as a Tool for Liberating the Consciousness of African-American Youths."

Who is invited to attend the conference?

Building on the success of the 1998 Million Youth Conference here in
Milwaukee and the Million Youth March in New York City, the Second Annual
Youth Conference invites youths of African descent to come and discuss
important topics and plan collectively the work and responsibility of
improving present conditions and building a more positive future.

Parents, educators and youth workers are encouraged to attend as well.

When and where will the conference take place? How much does it cost to
attend?

The Second Annual Youth Conference will take place on Friday, May 28,
1999, from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, School of
Business Building. The conference is free.
