13,000+ free eye surgery


A non-governmental organization Sightsavers in association with UKAID have started a project to better the eyesight of 150,000 patients in which 13,500 will receive surgery in Morogoro and Singida.

While unveiling the project, the head of TAMISEMI Dr Ntuli Kapologwe said that the government will not turn a blind eye on anyone that fails to allocate the 6 billion set aside for the project accordingly.

“Let’s look at this project as we would our child and the goals will be met… We will not entertain any governmental or non-governmental personnel who will fail to play their part in this project because this money is for the people of Tanzania and they must benefit from this investment” Dr Kapologwe.

Dr Kapologwe also added that these are efforts of the government in the betterment of the health sector in Tanzania.
