66 Chamba bags land 2 zimbabwean nationals in police cell

Police in the lake shore district of Nkhotakota have arrested two Zimbabwean nationals for allegedly found in possession 66 bags of cannabis sativa without license.

The two have been identified as Emmanuel Chisandule  (24) and Forward Mudekwa (42) who were arrested on the wee hours of 1 September  2019 at Nkhotakota trading center.

“The suspects were driving a freight-liner truck registration number AEU H032 /AAZ 7049 which was coming from Dwangwa heading back to Zimbabwe using Nkhotakota – Salima M5 road’’.

Police received a Tipp off from members of the general that the said truck carried the illicit drug concealed on the container; and the police adhorked a roadblock at Nkhotakota trading center.

“upon arrival at Nkhotakota trading center the police searched them and found 66 bags of chamba weighing 28 kilograms each and the hemp was nearly packed and concealed with plastic papers and placed in another compartment  in the container looking empty.’’

The two are expected to appear before Nkhotakota first  grade magistrate court to answer charges of found in possession of cannabis sativa without license contrary to section 4(A) of dangerous drug act.

Meanwhile police is called upon members of the general public to continue reporting to police any suspected criminals so that they are brought to book.
