Former Silver Strikers football club midfilder Victor Limbani has asked the club to clear him so that he can be free to join another club after they parted ways earlier this year.
Limbani joined the central bankers in 2014 from Big Bullets and was part of the 17 players that were shown the exit at the area 47 side in January this year.
Speaking in an interview, Victor Limbani said he is surprised with how his former club is handling issues as they don’t want to give him clearance to join another team.
“The club is not willing to clear me despite them terminating the contract in January this year. This is making it difficult for me to join another club which is interested in my services,” he said.
Commenting on the matter, Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thokozani Chimbali said, “Victor Limbani has a running contract with the club until August 2020 and we still give him his upkeep allowance. When he tells us that he has found a new club, he will be cleared like we have done with the other players we released.”
Chimbali further said the club spent millions on the released players to give them their benefits and compensation as it was required.
“All the players that were released from the club early this year were given their benefits and compensations including Victor Limbani which was based on how long one has stayed at the club and if we owned him any money. Only one player Lazarus Deco Nyemera was not satisfied with what he was given hence took the case to court,” said Chimbali.
