Barcelona defeated Napoli 3-1 in the second leg of the round of 16 of the 2019/20 champions league at the Nou Camp on Saturday to progress to the next round of the tournament.
With the match tied at 1-1 from the results of the first leg match, the Spanish side knew the need to score an early goal to disturb the visitors and in the 10th minute Lenglet fired Barca in front before Messi made it 2-0 before the half hour mark.
The 5 additional minutes of the first half produced drama as each side conceded a penalty and Suarez and Insigne stepped up to score for Barcelona and Napoli respectively for Napoli to trail Barcelona 3-1 at half time.
The second half produced no further goals and Barcelona has reached the semifinals with an aggregate score of 4-2.
In another match, Bayern Munich were 4-1 winners against English side Chelsea to progress to the semifinals of the champions league 7-1 on aggregate.
Chelsea needed to overturn 3-0 goal margin which they conceded in the first leg and the Germany Bundesliga champions added more salt on the wounds of Frank Lampard and his men as Robert Lewandowski scored a brace with the other goals coming from Tolisso and Perisic.
Chelsea scored the consolation goal through Abraham.
The wins for Bayern Munich and Barcelona complete the fixtures for the quarterfinals of the 2019/20 champions league as they will face each other with the other pairs already completed and games to be played from Wednesday to Saturday.
