Bayern Munich football club has been crowned champions of the 2019/20 UEFA champions league season after defeating Paris Saint Germain 1-0 at the studio da Luz on Sunday 23rd of August to win the trophy for the 6th time.
With much pride at stake, both sides displayed brilliant attacking football in the first 45 minutes of the game but no goals were registered in the first half despite the French side having two clear chances through Neymar and Mbappe who were denied by Nuer in goals for the Germany champions.
On the other hand, Robert Lewandowski saw his shot on the post after a lot of attacking threats from Bayern Munich on PSG but it was goalless at half time.
Just after 11 minutes of play in the second half, Kingsley Coman haunted his former club as he headed home a Kimmich cross to beat Navas in goals for PSG, which proved decisive as it stood to be the winner for Bayern Munich which was crowned champions of Europe’s prestigious club competition.
Enroute to their champions league glory, Bayern Munich has won 11 games including the 8-2 aggregate defeat against Barcelona, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Lyon to continue their unbeaten record in the competition this season.
The win gives Bayern Munich a record of 6 times to lift the trophy level with English side Liverpool which last won the champions league last season and are shot of one glory against AC Milan but Spanish side Real Madrid has won the competition 13 times.
