Big 4 battle for FA cup

Top English premier league teams have reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup after winning their quarter-final games during the weekend.

On Saturday 27 June 2020, Manchester United travelled to Carrow Road to face Norwich City. Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer grumbled as he made 8 changes to his team that defeated Sheffield United 3-0 on Wednesday and despite the Manchester side dominating possession, the first half ended with no goals.

In the second half, United took the lead in the 51st minute when Nigerian striker Odio Ighalo made no mistake to put the ball into the back of the net. Having considered the goal, Norwich City pressurised United and were rewarded in the 75th minute when Cantwell equalised to force the game into extra time.

Manchester United relied on extra-time goal from defender Harry Maguire to win the match and proceed to the semis of the competition in a match Ivory Coast international defender Eric Bailly featured for the side.

On Sunday 28th June, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City also won their games to complete the semi-finals pair of the FA cup this year.

Arsenal defeated Sheffield United 2-1 in a match Ivory coast international Nicolas Pepe scored from the penalty spot with Dan Ceballos scoring the winning goal in added time.

Sheffield United scored the consolation goal through McGoldrick in a match Arsenal cup Pierre Emeric Aubameyang was an unused substitute.

Chelsea were 1-0 winners over Leicester City thanks to a Ross Barkley goal which came in the 63rd minute. Nigerian Wilfred Ndidi was given a chance to be in the starting line up for Leicester City with fellow countrymen Nkelechi Iheanacho watching the whole game on the bench.

Manchester City were 2-0 winners over Newcastle United thanks to a 37-minute penalty scored by Kelvin De Bruyne and a 68th minute goal from Raheem Sterling in a match Algerian international Riyad Mahrez was in the starting team for the citizens.
