Bright start for Manchester city

Manchester City kicked off the 2020/21 English premier league season with an important away 3-1 victory over Wolves in a match played at the Molineaux Stadium on Monday.

The 2018/19 premier league champions had no mercy on the home side when they opened the scoring as they led 2-0 by the break thanks to goals from Kelvin De Bruyne who converted a penalty after Raheem Sterling was brought down in the box before Phoden made it 2 from another Sterling assist.

In the second half, the home side gave themselves hope of a possible comeback in the match when Raul Jimenez pulled one back in the 78th minute but this was not enough to deny the citizens maximum points as Gabriel Jesus made it 3-1 in added minutes of the match.

In another match on Monday, Aston Villa were 1-0 winners over Sheffield United in their first league match of the 2020/21 season.

Villa took advantage of Sheffield United as they were reduced to 10 minutes in the 12th minute after Egan pulled back Watkins and luck was not on Sheffield United side on the day as Lundstram failed to grant the visitors the lead from the penalty spot when Aston Villa’s new signing goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez saved the shot.

In the second half, Konsa was the hero for the home side when he headed home a Ming corner kick to win the game for Aston Villa.
