Old time Blantyre rivals Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers football teams will face each other to spice up celebrations as Malawi will be commemorating 55 years of independence at the Kamuzu stadium on Saturday.
Speaking a head of the derby Nyasa Big Bullets football club administrative director Albert Chigoga confirmed they will play the ceremonial match and use it as a platform to give chance to players not enjoying game time.
“We will play the ceremonial match against our rivals Be Forward Wanderers during the independence celebration but the game will give us a chance to let those players who don’t enjoy game time play on the day as we entertain Malawias”, Chigoga said.
On the other hand Wanderers team manager Victor Maunde said
“We are prepared for the game and we know their is nothing like a friendly game between us as a lot is at stake so we will go flat out to win the match “.
This will be the third Blantyre derby this year as they drew on the Big Bullets bonanza with Bullets winning the two sides game in the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) chifundo charity shield.
