Bullets for Fisher and Maunde

TNM super league defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets football club coach Calisto Pasuwa has submitted names of players he will need for the 2020 season without the name of the team’s longest serving member winger Fisher Kondowe and former Malawi national football team defender Bashil Maunde.

According to reports, the people’s team are expecting to give the former flames international Fisher Kondowe a new role having been with the team for 16 years as he joined the club in 1998 before getting an opportunity to play professional football in South Africa in 2004 for teams such as Bloemfontein Celtic and Black Leopards. He returned to Bullets in 2010 where he has played unti 2019.

Bullets chief administrative office Albert Chigoga has confirmed in an interview that the two veteran players have not been given contract ahead of the new season including midfielder Dave Banda whom the club earlier released and joined Red Lions football club.
“Coach Calisto Pasuwa has submitted names of players he will need for the 2020 season and sighted not needing the services of defender Bashil Maunde. As for Fisher Kondowe he had a talk with the coach telling him he needs to hang up his boots that’s why we decided not to give him a contract as a player but thought it wise to give him a new role at the club,” Chigoga said.

Commenting on the development Fisher Kondowe who was part of Bullets team that made history to reach the group stages of the CAF champions league in 2004 refused to comment much as he awaits to see what his new role will be.
“Anything is in the hands of Bullets and am just waiting to see the role they have for me and as long as am part of the team that will be OK with me. I would also like to thank the team’s supporters for supporting me and may God bless them,” Kondowe said.
