Bullets, Masters to confirm CAF participation


Nyasa Big Bullets football club and Masters Security football club will have to confirm to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) by end of business on 31st May if they are to participate in this year’s Confederation of Africa (CAF) tournaments and winning the super league and carlsberg cup respectively last year.

CAF is expected to announce teams to play in this year’s CAF champions league and CAF confederation cup next week with the draw to take place later in June as this year’s tournament is expected to start in August as the European calendar.

FAM through its club licensing and transfer matching system manager Casper Jangale has confirmed that the two will have to submit all the necessary documents and money amounting to k15 million each to the FA as a confirmation that they will take part in this year’s CAF tournaments.

However Nyasa Big Bullets football club administrative officer Albert Chigoga said all along they have been preparing to take part in CAF competition and will follow all procedures required by CAF.

“We were told by FAM that the closing date for all teams interested to participate in this year’s CAF competition is 31st May that we need to submit all the necessary documents and as Bullets we are working towards date line to submit the documents.

“Everything is going on well and we are working hand in hand with FAM who are helping us as teams to follow the procedure and as Bullets we already budgeted for the tournament and we are ready “, he said.

Nyasa Big Bullets football club also participated in CAF champions league tournament but were booted out in the first round by the Kenyan side Gor Mahia while Masters Security football club participated in the 2018 CAF confederations cup and played the Angolan side Petro Luanda.
