Bullets propose wage cut

2019 TNM super league champions Nyasa Big Bullets football club has proposed to reduce the wages of it’s players by half due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking in an interview, Bullets administrative officer Albert Chigoga confirmed receiving the proposal from the sponsors and that they have already informed the players of the development which might happen at the people’s team.

“We have received a proposal from the sponsors that the players salaries might be reduced by 50 per cent but we are yet to receive final and official communication of the development but we took a step further to address the players of what is being proposed in case the wage cut proposal is approved, they should not be surprised,” said Chigoga.

Their arc rivals Be Forward Wanderers football club have already initiated a 50 per cent wage cut for its players with effective April 2020 after their sponsors Be Forward reduced sponsorship money to the club due to the drop in business of their second hand cars.
