Bullets,Masters know CAF fate

Nyasa Big Bullets and Masters Security have know their opponents as the draw for the 2019/20 Confederation of Africa (CAF) has been made. The two TNM super league sides will start the campaign in the preliminary round.

Bullets will play in the CAF champions league and have been paired against 2018 Zimbabwe premier league side Platinum football club. Platinum are currently top of the Zimbabwe premier league with 31 points from 15 games. Bullets who won the league last year are on position 5 with 22 points from 12 games.

The winner between Bullets and Platinum will meet the winner between UD Songo of Mozambique and Simba Sport of Tanzania.

Masters who are struggling financially will travel to Uganda to face Proline football club in the Continental confederations cup. Proline lie second from bottom in the 16 teams Uganda super league while Masters lies 11th in the TNM super league.

The first leg matches will be played from 9 to 11 August with the return matches scheduled from 23 to 25 August.

This is not the first time for the two sides to participate in CAF tournaments. In 2017, Masters were booted out in the preliminary round of the confederations cup by an Angola giants Petro de Luanda. In 2018, Bullets bowed out of the Continental champions league in the hands of Kenyan side Gor Mahia.
