The Electoral Commission of Burundi is expected to announce the presidential election results of last Wednesday this week with Evariste Ndayishimiye who was appointed by president Pierre Nkurunziza having the greater probability to win.
The results of the earlier presidential elections are expected to be announced today while full results will be released on June 4, 2020. Temporary results that were published by the national media agency have shown Ndayishimiye leading with 80%.
The main opponent Agathon Rwasa whose campaign rallies used to have huge crowds attacked 20%. Some other five candidates together gained only 1%.
Rwasa’s spokesperson said that the outcome was forced by the ruling party who is wrangling for leadership.
