Nyasa Big Bullets has partnered with Energem Petroleum Limited to acquire the naming rights for it’s upcoming international bonanza.
At a ceremony held at Bullets club house in Blantyre on Monday, Energem has bought the naming rights at K5 million for the three days bonanza to run from 28 February to 1 March at Kamuzu stadium. This will attract two foreign teams namely UD Songo of Mozambique and Chicken Inn from Zimbabwe, with the host nation Malawi, represented by Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers.
Energem Petroleum Limited managing director Daniel Vosloo said the bonanza will be a good platform to market their company.
“We followed the tournament last year and we were satisfied with how it was run and we feel it will help market our company,” said Vosloo.
Speaking after signing the partnership deal Bullets Chief Executive Officer Escort Chinula said they are thankful to Energem and they are ready to work with other companies in their commercialisation drive.
“We are very excited to have Energem as part of us in this year’s bonanza. This will benefit the company as well as football in the country and as Bullets we are ready to work with different companies in our commercialisation drive,” said Chinula.
For buying naming rights, Energem Petroleum Limited will provide a trophy to the tournament winners, medals to the four teams, buy warm up kits for all the four teams and dress balls boys.
Mozambique side Ferroviario de Nampula won the tournament in it’s inaugural year in 2019.
