Former Malawi national football team and Polokwane city football club striker Essau Black mamba Kanyenda has written to the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) of his wish to become an agent for players.
Kanyenda started his football career at Dwangwa United in 2000 before joining professional football in South Africa where he played for Jomo Cosmos and Polokwane City football club. He also played for Lokomotive Moscow and B93 in Russia and Denmark.
According to Kanyenda, the decision has been made as he wants to help other talented youngsters who have potential but lack breakthrough and connections to play outside the country.
“Having played football in Russia, Denmark and South Africa, I have people from different clubs in these countries who approach me to help them identity talented players from Malawi to join their clubs. This has made me write to FAM to give me a certificate as a player agent before I write to Premier Soccer League (PSL) in South Africa wherewith the connections I have we should be able to send players there,” he said.
FAM club licensing and compliance manager Casper Jangale has confirmed receiving a letter from Kanyenda that all necessary procedures will be followed.
“We have received a letter from him asking for a permission that he wants to be an accredited players agent and by FIFA rules and regulations he will go through the vetting process and when he passes all that he should be granted the certificate,” he said.
Kanyenda who finished his football career at Be Forward Wanderers which he joined in 2017 and played for 2 seasons, facilitated the move for defender Denis Chembezi and striker Khuda Muyaba to join PSL side Polokwane city football club in January 2020.
