On Tuesday, action in the English Premier League (EPL) saw Chelsea football club defeated Crystal Palace 3-2 in a hard contested London derby to keep alive their hope of playing in the champions league next season.
At the Selhurst Park, Chelsea took an early lead when Olivia Giroud scored in the 6th minute before Purisic doubled the scoreline for the visitors 21 minutes later. Ivory Coast international Wilfred Zaha pull one back for Crystal Palace in the 34th minute giving the home side of a possible come back.
In the second half, the home side with Senegalese midfielder Kouyate and Ghanaian international striker Jordan Ayew kept missing a lot of chances before the half witnessed two quick goals within two minutes from both sides. Tammy Abraham scored in the 71st minute before Christian Benteke scored for Palace a minute later.
The win takes Chelsea to 3rd place on the standing as they have 60 points from 34 games while Crystal Palace is on 14th position from the same number of games.
In another match, Leicester City frustrated 10 man Arsenal when a late goal from Jarmy Vardy denied the Gunners maximum points at the Emirates stadium. The home side took the lead through Gabonese international Piere Emerick Aubameyang who netted his 20th goal of the season.
The Gunners were reduced to 10 men in the 71st minute when Nketiah received a red card which made the foxes which had two Nigerian internationals, Wilfred Ndindi and Nkelechi Iheanacho to urge more men into attacking forward, which paid off in the 85th minute when Vardy netted an equaliser to take his goals tally to 22 this season.
Leicester City has dropped down to 4th position on the standings as they have 59 points while Arsenal remains on 7th position with 50 points.
Watford has moved 4 points adrift of the relegation zone when they defeated Norwich City 2-1 thanks to a second-half well-executed bicycle kick from Danny Welbeck. Norwich took an early lead in the 4th minute through Buendia before Watford strikes back through Dawson 6 minutes later.
Watford has moved to position 17 with 31 points while Norwich city remains in the drop zone with 21 points.
