Chelsea risk dropping out of top 4 with Norwich City ending EPL party

With only three games remaining to end the 2019/20 English Premier League (EPL), Chelsea risk losing their top four finish chances as they lost 3-0 to Sheffield United on Saturday at the Bramall Lane.

The home side opening their goals account for the day with a 17th minute McGoldrick close range strike before McBurnie header doubled the lead before half time.

In the second half, McGoldrick scored his second of the afternoon and third for Sheffield to keep alive hopes of playing in the European competition next year as they are on position 6 with 54 points.

Chelsea is still on third position with 60 points but risk dropping to 5th position if Leicester City and Manchester United win their games on Sunday and Monday respectively.

Liverpool failed to secure a win at Anfield as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Burnley. Liverpool took the lead in the 34th minute through a Robertson bullet header goal which was enough for the reds to lead at half time.

In the second half, the visitors who are fighting for a top half finish, equalised in the 69th minute through Rodrigues to deny Jorgen Kloop men maximum points. Liverpool has 93 points and the championship in their bag while Burnley is on position 9 with 50 points.

On the same afternoon, Norwich City was confirmed to have been relegated from the English Premier League after losing 4-0 to West Ham United in a match Michael Antonio was the hero as he scored all goals for the hammers.

Watford relied on Troy Deeney to convert two penalty spot kicks in the second half to come from behind and defeated Newcastle United 2-1. Newcastle United was the first to score through Gayle which was not enough to even rescue a point at the Vicarage road.

Fresh from wining their last game against Newcastle United a 5-0 goals margin, the outgoing champions seem to have found their scoring form as they also defeated Brighton 5-0. Raheem Sterling scored a hat trick to take his goals tally of the campaign with Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus scoring the other goals.
