Zimbabwe top premier league side Chicken Inn has arrived in the country to take part in the three day Energem international bonanza to start on Friday at the Kamuzu stadium.
The bonanza will see two international teams, one from Zimbabwe and the other from Mozambique take on two local teams Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers who were champions and runner ups respectively in the 2019 TNM super league.
One of the officials from the organisers Nyasa Big Bullets, Kelvin Moyo confirmed the arrival of the Zimbabwean team as they await for UD Songo to arrive.
“Chicken Inn from Zimbabwe arrived yesterday (Wednesday) and have slept at the Mpira village in Chiwembe Blantyre as we wait for UD Songo from Mozambique to arrive today (Thursday) ahead of the bonanza to start on Friday,” said Moyo.
Moyo also said the bonanza will give the local teams a chance to expose themselves to how the game is growing on the African continent. The two international visitors regularly participate in CAF competitions and they expect an exciting tournament and urged soccer loving Malawians to come to the games in large numbers.
“The two visiting teams have promised to come with their best squad and the fact that they both were runner ups of leagues in their home countries will make the bonanza exciting as they will face champions and runner ups of the league in Malawi. For that I urge people to come in large numbers with their families to watch the games,” he said.
