Zimbabwean side Chicken Inn has defeated two Malawian teams taking part in this year’s Energem international bonanza after defeating Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 today Saturday, 29 February at the Kamuzu stadium on the second day of the tournament.
Fresh from defeating Be Forward Wanderers on Friday, Chicken Inn came hard on Nyasa Big Bullets as they dominated the match only to be denied a goal before the break by the host defence lead.
In the second half, Chicken Inn continued with it’s attacking game and scored the lone goal of the match in the 56th minute through Nicole Mutitiwa for the Chicken Inn to register a 100 percent winning record and top the standings with six points in the bonanza after playing two games.
In another match on the day, Be Forward Wanderers failed to recover from their loss against Chicken Inn on Friday as they also suffered a 2-0 win against UD Songo thanks to two first half goals from Belito Antonio and Amade Mudede to give the Mozambique side three points and second on the log table with a better goal different than Bullets who also have three points. The Nomads are on the bottom of the standing as they have no point from two games.
The three days Energem international bonanza ends tomorrow Sunday, 1 March with the first Blantyre derby of 2020 between Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers as the two visitors will also face each other.
