Northern region TNM super league side Chitipa united will on Saturday launch the sell of replica jerseys as one way to generate money for the club.
General secretary for the club Duma Ng’oma said this will be done at the club’s base in chitipa where among other things the buy a coaster taskforce will handover the bus which was bought to the executive committee of the club.
“Our supporters have been asking for replica jerseys and they are here for them to buy and the money to be used in running the club. We also want to thank the buy a bus taskforce for the good job they have done as we spent almost close to k1 million just on transport for our trips to Blantyre to fulfill fixtures which means that money will now be allocated to the welfare of the players,” he said.
Ng’oma further said they have put in place measures to safeguard people against COVID-19 at the function which will also be graced by high profile people.
“All the preventive measures which need to be followed against the spread of corona virus will be observed on the day and the club has also bought masks to be distributed on the day. We have asked the minister of youth and sports honourable Ulemu Msungama and minister of civic education honourable Mtambo to be at the function and for that reason we can’t just do things anyhow,” said Ng’oma.
