Lilongwe based Civil Service United are looking forward to secure the services of former Tigers football club defender Barshil Maunde who is a free agent after being released by Nyasa Big Bullets last month.
Maunde has been with the people’s team since 2014 when he joined the club from Tigers and his services were no longer needed at the defending championship which made the defender to open negotiations with the Civil servants confirmed by general secretary Ronald Chiwawula.
“Bashil Maunde is a good player and was even playing for a big club but the corona virus pandemic has affected his move to join Civil Service United. He was suppose to be assessed by the technical panel before we sign him but all I can say is he is in the plans of our technical panel as we feel he can be of help to the club due to his experience and discipline,” Chiwawula said.
The former Blantyre United defender has confirmed being in talks with the Area 9 club and expects to finalise everything once Covid-19 ends.
“I have been in talks with Civil since I was released from Bullets as they have shown interest for my services. Once everything is done after the corona virus I will be moving to join them and the servants should expect to see a hard working Barshil they have known for years as I still have the energy to play good football,” Maunde said.
