One team from Blantyre will face a team from Lilongwe in the 2020 Eco bank FAM charity shield to be played on 4th and 5th of April after the start of this years TNM super league’. Two Blantyre based rivals Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wandererers have been paired against each other in the first semi final with capital city rivals Blue Eagles facing Silver Strikers in the other semi finals.
At the unveiling ceremony held at the banks head office in Blantyre, the bank also unveiled the rise in sponsorship money from k12 million to k18 million to the delight of Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Walter Nyamilandu.
“We are happy the bank still show commitment to us by adding more sponsorship money and we are very thankful for that. As we usually do with charity shield gate takings, this year we will help Cyclone idai survivors in Mwalija village in Chikwawa district,” he said.
Bullets will defend the Ecobank FAM charity shield they won last year and will face their old time rivals Wanderers for the second time this year having already meet each other last week in the Nyasa Big Bullets international bonaza which Bullets won 4-3.
