Corona virus hit league kick off

Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has abided quickly to the statement made by Malawi state president professor Arthur Peter Muthalika restricting gatherings of more than 100 people due to the spreading of corona virus hence the decision to postpone kick off of the 2020 TNM super league which was slated for Saturday 21 March.

President Muthalika declared Malawi a state of disaster in a state of the national address on Friday over corona virus although the country has not registered cases of the disease and has restricted public gatherings which include football games over fears of the deadly pandemic which has confirmed cases in neighboring countries of Tanzania and Zambia.

In a statement released by SULOM, signed by president Tiya Somba Banda, they have decided to postpone the games as one way of preventing the spread of the corona virus pandemic and will communicate in the coming future when the league will start.

The postponement came late as teams such as Blue Eagles and Ntopwa had already travelled to the sourthern and central regions respectively to fulfill their assigned games to kick off the 2020 TNM super league season.
