Dar es Salaam RC urges Tanzanian women to show how empowered they are


The Regional Commissioner (RC) of Dar es Salaam Mr Aboubakar Kunenge has today September 28, called upon women across the country to wake up and show up their ability in different fields of development.

He said this during a meeting he held in Dar es Salaam city that was attended by religious leaders, political leaders and women rights activists aiming at maintaining peace and unity especially during this general election season in Tanzania.

Kunenge insisted that his government in conjunction with the central government will continue to put in place a conducive environment for women and ensure the rights of women are observed with regard to the constitution of the country.

Moreover, the RC has stressed on peace and unity protection, urging people to attend political campaigns so as to measure the politician’s manifesto in order to be in a position to identify who can be a good leader. By doing so, Kunenge said that the citizens will be in a position to make accurate decisions.

However, the meeting was held by the Tanzania Media Women’s Association (TAMWA) in collaboration with the Institute of Peace in Tanzania. TAMWA has held such meetings in Arusha, Dodoma, Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam.
