Blue Eagles football club continues to beef up their squad before the start of the 2020 season as they have announced the coming of defender Ganizani James from Dwangwa United and midfielder Kelvin Tshibwabwa from Silver Strikers reserve.
The police headquarters side which has already brought 5 new players to the club has given defender Ganizani James a two years contract reuniting him with former team mate Chifuniro Mpinganjira who joined the club last month. Eagles also invaded fellow capital city rivals Silver Strikers reserve where they have snatched midfielder Kelvin Tshibwabwa for a year contract.
According to a statement released by the 2019 FISD cup champions, the team is not just making unnecessary signings but finding replacements for players who left the club.
“We lost 3 namely Gregory Nachipo to MDF, Schumacher Kuwali to UD Songo in Mozambique and Foster Bitoni to Silver Strikers. We have loaned out Boniface Maliwata, Yamikani Tambala and Willex Ngwenya while 4 players George Chauya, Patrick Rudi, Misheck Mwachipitsa and Hezekiah Chimseu.
“Hence our current signings should not come as a surprise as some of you would want to paint it. We can’t be signing players for the sake of it. Rather we are filling gaps that are there,” the statement reads.
Blue Eagles has so far signed goalkeeper Chimwemwe Kumkwawa, Mphatso Filimoni, Lazarous Nyemera, Chifuniro Mpinganjira and Gaddie Chirwa.
