Ekwendeni Hammers football club has beefed up their squad with a number of players that were with the teams that got relegated from the TNM super league last year as one way of finalising preparations to their new life in the elite league.

Hammers has ropped in the services of Eric Kawonga, Sulitha Robert, Chakonda Majanga and Patrick Maulana who played for a single season with Mlatho Mponera in the super league. They will also use the services of Eneya Banda, Maneno Nyoni and Chisomo Chalamanda who were with Masters security and helped the side win the Calsberg cup in 2018.

The team manager for the club, Benjamin Thole said he feels the experience of these players will help strengthen the team.
“Our technical panel has approved these players should be part of the team as we start the TNM super league due to the experience they have since they are coming from playing in the elite league. We want them to guide the other teams that fought hard for the team to be promoted to play top flight football as we know that it’s a bit hard where we are going,” Thole said.
