Europa League Returns in August


The battle to win the 2019/20 Europa league by the remaining 32 teams in the competition will resume on 5th August 2020 with the round of 16 matches after it was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On Friday 10th July, UEFA conducted a draw for the quarterfinals and semifinals which will be played as a straight knockout competition in Germany and has set mouth watering fixtures as teams fight to win the second string club European accolade.

The quarterfinals will be played on 10 and 11 August with the winner between Italian side Inter Milan and Spanish side Getafe to play against Leverkusen and Scottish side Rangers football club.

English Premier League (EPL) sides Wolves and Manchester United will need to win their round of 16 matches to reach the quarterfinals with United tipped to be the favourites to win the cup with how they are performing in the premier league.

The winners of the quarterfinals will proceed to the last four of the tournaments with semifinal matches to be played on 16 and 17 August with the finals to be played at the stadion koln in Cologne in Germany on 21st August.
