Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has reminded all it’s stakeholders that all football activities including trainings and games remain suspended as stipulated under COVID-19 preventative measures rules.
In a statement released on Thursday 18 June 2020 signed by FAM general secretary Alfred Gunda, highlighted that some teams are planning to resume training when the FA has not given a go ahead to resume football activities and has asked all it’s stakeholders not to contravene with the government rules on COVID-19 preventive measures.
“FAM would like to remind member associations and their respective clubs that no trainings and football matches are allowed until FAM gets permission and guidance from Malawi government to do s,o” part of the statement reads.
FAM has submitted a plan to Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) on how the 2020/21 football season will be run which is expected to start in August and TNM super league teams such as Ntopwa, MAFCO, Kamuzu Barracks and capital city giants Silver Strikers have start light training ahead of the new season.
