Malawi national football team coach Meke Mwase has named a 20 man squad to leave for Botswana for the first leg of the 2020 World cup qualifiers.
The team has departed on Wednesday with six professionals and 14 local based players that will face the Zebras on Saturday.
Five of the professional players have left with the team while Gabadinho Mhango is expected to join the team in Johannesburg enroute to Botswana.
Speaking before departure Meke Mwase said he expects the team to do better.
“The players have been doing well during training and that is giving us hope to do well.
The morale is high in camp with the professional players that have joined us and we expect them to add value to the team”, he said.
The return leg is scheduled for Tuesday 10 September at the Kamuzu stadium in Blantyre.
