Malawi national football team and Baroka football club players Richard Mbulu and Gerald Phiri will return on the field of play on 19 July as football is expected to resume in South Africa with the Nedbank cup semifinals.
Football was suspended in South Africa in March due to coronavirus and the South Africa Football Association (SAFA) has released the 18th and 19th of July as dates for the semifinals of the 2019/20 Nedbank cup with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) expected to resume on 21st July.
Baroka football club which has Malawian striker Richard Mbulu and midfielder Gerald Phiri junior will face Bloemfontein Celtic on the second semifinal fixture while Mamelodi Sundown will play against Bidvest Wits in the other semifinal crush.
To reach the semifinals, Baroka defeated Robert Ng’ambi’s Black Leopards while Mamelodi Sundowns saw the better of Highlands Park which has flames defender Limbikani Mzamva.
