A 3-2 aggregate scoreline has handed Fulham a place in the finals of the sky bet championship playoff against Brentford to see who will earn promotion into the English Premier League (EPL) next season.
Brentford who booked themselves a place in the finals on Wednesday after defeating Swansea city awaited the winner between Fulham and Cardiff who played in the second semifinal on Thursday, a match Cardiff won 2-1 but Fulham has progressed to the finals with an aggregate 3-2 score having won the first semifinal 2-0.
Cardiff opened the scoring in the 8th minute before Kebano levelled a minute later for Fulham to tie the scores at 1-1 at half time.
In the first three minutes of the season half, Cardiff restored the lead through Tomlin and defended the lead until full time but it was not enough to bring them closer to EPL football as Fulham already did the damage in the first semifinal match.
Brentford and Fulham will face each other in the final on Tuesday at Ewood Park with the winner joining Leeds united and Wes Brom who have been promoted to play in the English Premier League next season.
