Malawi national football team striker Gabadinho Mhango continues to make headlines in South Africa as he is among the nominees for the award of the ABSA Premier Soccer League (PSL) player of the month of January.
The former Nyasa Big Bullets hitman has been instrumental for his side Orlando Pirates and his consistence and sharpness in front of the goal has earned him praises from the Soweto giants supporters and will compete for the award against Thema Zwane of Mamelodi Sundowns and Lebogang Manyama of Kaiser Chiefs.
Mhango has played four games for Orlando Pirates in the month of January and has scored six goals including the win for his side against Mamelodi Sundowns.
He also has two men of the match awards in a match he scored a brace against Polokwane City and in a match he scored the winner for Pirates against the PSL defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
The nomination comes at a time when Gabadinho Mhango who has been playing in the PSL since 2013 is chasing the golden boot and is the current top goal scorer with 14 goals.
