Malawi national football team and Orlando pirates football club striker Gabadinho Mhango continues to shine as he has won the South Africa premier soccer league (PSL) player of the month award for January 2020.
Gaba played five games and scored six goals for the Soweto giants in January including a hatrick against Polokwane city which saw him top the PSL goal scorers chat.
The former Bidvest Wits and Golden Arrows striker was also named man of the match after netting the lone goal in his side win over premier soccer league defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns. He competed against Themba Zwane of Sundowns and Lebohang Manyama of Kaizer Chiefs for the award.
Orlando Pirates was the most in form team in the PSL in January as they registered four wins and a draw which also made the club’s coach Joseph Zinnbauer to be voted the coach of the month.
This is the first time for Gabadinho Mhango has won the monthly award since joining the premier soccer league with Bloemfontein Celtic from Big Bullets in 2013.
