Gaba’s scoring boots still missing


Malawi national football team and Orlando Pirates football club striker Gabadinho Mhango experienced another bad day on Saturday 29th August when he failed to score a goal for his side’s 2-1 win over supersport united.

Mhango who is leading the premier soccer league top goal scorers chat with 14 goals, last scored a goal for the Soweto giants in February this year before football was suspended in the rainbow nation but since games resumed in August, the former Nyasa Big Bullets striker has been misfiring.

Playing under pressure to increase his chances of winning the golden boot, Mhango played for only 57 minutes on Saturday before he was substituted in a match Pirates got the goals through Pule and Lepasa while Fleurs scored the consolation for Supersport united as they failed to convert 2 penalty spot kicks.

The win has ended a 7 games winless run for Pirates and has moved them to 4th place on the standings with 46 points from 28 games while Supersport is a place above the Soweto giants with a point more from the same number of games.

In another match on the day, Malawi national football team defender Limbikani Mzamva played for Highlands park when they drew 1-1 against Maritzburg united and former flames midfilder Robert Ng’ambi had a bad return to action for Black Leopards as they lost 1-0 to Amazulu to drop into the relegation zone.

Capetown city were the highest scorers on the day as they netted 4 goals pass Golden Arrows as it ended 4-1.
