A first-half brace from striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was enough to give AC Milan a win over their city rivals Inter Milan as it ended 2-1 in a 2020/21 Serie A match played at the San Siro on Saturday.
Being a cross-town derby, each team wanted to quickly settle into the match by scoring early and it was AC Milan which found the back of the net first through Ibrahimovic in the 13th minute when he missed a penalty only to score from the rebound before completing his hat-trick three minutes later.
Romelu Lukaka pulled one back for Inter Milan in the 29th minute when he connected a Perisic low cross but that was not enough to force a come back in the second half as no goals were scored for AC Milan to collect three points.
AC Milan is on the summit of the 2020/21 Italian Serie A with 12 points from 4 games while the rivals Inter Milan is on 6th position with 7 points.
In another match on the afternoon, Napoli were 4-1 winners over Napoli in a match the home side scored all its 4 goals in the first half through Politano, Osimhen and a brace from Lozano while Lammers scored the consolation goal for Atalanta in the second half.
At the Luigi Ferraris stadium goals from Quagliarella, Auguello and Damsgaard gave Sampdoria a win as they defeated Lazio 3-0.
