The Tanzanian government announced that coronavirus protective materials donated by billionaire Jack Ma has arrived in Dar es Salaam. The equipment arrived at Julius Nyerere International Airport on Flight No ET 3811.
The materials include 1,000 protective suits, 20,000 testing kits and 100,000 masks. “The supplies represent the Chinese traditional spirit of benevolence. Tanzania will get more support from China as a way to fight the pandemic,” the embassy posted on twitter.
“We take precautions and get prepared ahead of time as Africa can benefit from the experience and lessons of other countries that were earlier hit hardly by the disease,” Jack Ma said in a statement on Twitter.
Somalia and Tanzania are the latest beneficiaries from Jack Ma the Alibaba group which is the second shipment to Africa in the initiative to fight Covid-19.
