As Kenya’s government today released the names of the countries allowed to land in its territories, Tanzania is not among the list.
The countries included in the list to operate flights to Kenya are China, Zimbabwe, Japan, Canada, Ethiopia, South Korea, Switzerland, Rwanda, Uganda, Morocco, and Namibia.
Announcing the list, the Cabinet Secretary for transport James Macharia said the list will be reviewed as the time goes on since the Covid-19 status is not static but changes with time.
“These countries have mild or limited community transmission incidences,” said the CS.
The Minister also noted that the passengers arriving in Kenya must have a Covid-19 negative test certificate with temperatures not exceeding 37.5 degrees celcius.
However, the drivers operating in the airport are required to have evidence that they came from the airport so as to be allowed to proceed to their destinations.
Airline operators will be required to provide guidance material to passengers regarding application of all preventive precautions on board to their aircrafts.
