On Saturday, July 4, the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta ranked Africa as the best of all the continents in the world in efforts to combat the global pandemic.

Kenyatta aired his remarks at a Webinar on post COVID-19 reconstruction, saying that Africa has been strict and consistent to contain the spread of the disease, with measures of the highest degree.

The event was organized by the African Chapter of the International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP-Africa), an international network of Heads of African States and global who meet and address different challenges encountering the continent, including conflicts, natural disasters and corruption.

Supporting his claim with evidence, Kenyatta said that Africa has more than 1.2 billion people but it has just recorded more than 400,000 COVID-19 cases and over 10,000 deaths only.

Comparing to US impact, he said it is about 15 per cent and 7 per cent of US cases and deaths respectively.

He further took the opportunity to warn the continents’ heads about the increase in the cases, therefore urging them not to relax in the fight against the novel pandemic.

Today Sunday, July 5, Kenya has recorded 7,577 infections and 159 deaths.

In his remarks, President Kenyatta called upon Africa’s unity and strength to the health ministries to win the fight against the deadly disease.
