Liverpool crowned champions with a win


Liverpool received the trophy for being champions of the 2019/20 English Premier League season in style on Wednesday when they defeated Chelsea 5-3 at Anfield stadium.

With the game being of much importance to the blues, Liverpool did not want to disappoint on the night when they regained the fine form which they displayed before the coronavirus break.

23 Minutes on the clock, Liverpool took the lead through Guinea midfielder Naby Keita before Alexander-Arnold and Wijnaldum registered their names on the score sheet. In the closing minutes of the first half, Olivia Giroud pulled one back for Chelsea which gave them hope for a come back in the second half.

In the second half, the home side continued scoring goals for fun when Firmino scored on the 55th minute to give Liverpool a comfortable lead. Chelsea scored two goals in 12 minutes through Abraham and Christian Pulisic but it was not enough to deny Liverpool to celebrate in style in the night Oxlade-Chamberlain also scored for the reds.

In another game on the night, West Ham United denied Manchester United maximum points in their last game of the season at Old Trafford.
United which seems to have lost the fine form it had after football resumed because of the Coronavirus break, saw the Hammers took the lead just before half time from the penalty which was converted by Michael Antonio.

In the first ten minutes of the second half, United equalised through Mason Greenwood after a good interchange of passes with Antonio Martial, in a match Manchester United was frustrated by the visitors.

With one game to end the season, Manchester United has moved to 3rd position with 63 points same as Chelsea which is on 4th position but united has a better goal difference and will need a point from their last game against Leicester City to finish in top 4 as Chelsea will face Wolves.
