Malawi national football team defender Lucky Malata has returned to Be Forward Wanderers football club after apologising barely a week after the team released him.
Last week the nomads, released Malata together with Harry Nyirenda, Peter Katsonga and Zicco Mkanda. There were speculations that Lucky Malata was on the verge of returning to his former club Silver Strikers which later closed doors to resign it’s former clubs.
Wanderers general secretary Victor Maunde has confirmed of the return of the defender after he apologized to the authorities of the club.
“We had a meeting with the defender and his manager who apologized to the executive committee and technical panel on how the player handled himself towards the end of the season last year and towards his contract. We have accepted him back and his return should bring competition to our defenders as he is a good player,” said Maunde.
On his part, Lucky Malata manager Paul Kamanga said he is happy the club has accepted the player back.
“The player was released not based on his performance on the pitch but on other issues and that is normal where there are two or more people there are disagreements. So we had a meeting with the executive committee of the club where we have resolved everything and I am happy the team has accepted him back,” said Kamanga.
