Kasungu based TNM super league side TN Stars football club has appointed CAF A coaching licence holder Joseph Malizani as their new head coach and has signed a two years deal with the club.
In a statement released by the club, Malizani will take over duties from former Malawi national football team goalkeeper Philip Nyasulu who has been care taker coach of the club during the 2019 super league after the head coach Meke Mwase got a job as coach for the Malawi national football team.
Malizani has confirmed accepting the appointment. He has been coaching teams in the central region football association league such as Ekas freight wanderers and Msundwe united. He will take charge of the top flight league for the first time.
“I was approached by TN Stars football club management and they saw it right to appoint me as head coach which is not a big challenge for me as I have been able to develop a lot of players when I was coaching lower division league teams”, he said.
Malizani will start life in the elite league when he will lead the stars against Ntopwa at Kasungu stadium in the team’s first game of the 2020 TNM super league season on Sunday 22 March.
