Man sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for stealing Tsh86M

The former deputy Director for Rufiji Valley Development in the Rufiji region Mr Aloyce Masanja has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment by Kisutu Resident court in Dar es Salaam.

Masanja was found guilty for Tsh86 million fraud and ordered to refund the money to two farming companies that deposited Tsh86 million to his bank account.

According to the magistrate Augustina Mmbando, the suspect was found guilty through the witnesses of the accuser who sued the case in court.

“After close analysis of the accuser’s claims against Masanja, it was revealed through the presented evidence that the suspect was found guilty and must pay a total of Tsh86 million shillings to the companies he owes, or rather the companies will sell his assets to refund back their money,” Mmbando stressed.

He added that he will serve the two allegations against him, each 14 years sentence in jail alongside payment of the total amount to the accusers.
