Manchester United had a bad start to the 2020/21 English premier league season as they lost 3-1 to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Coming from a 1-0 win over Southampton last weekend, Crystal Palace came heads up as they search for maximum points and with just 7 minutes into the game Townsend fired the Eagles into the lead with a fine finish following a poor defending from United.
The home side came knocking on Crystal Palace’s defence in search for an equaliser which never came and things turned to worse in the second half when Wilfred Zaha hunted his former club from the penalty spot before completing his brace in the last five minutes of the match.
Manchester United scored a consolation goal through debutant Donny Van De Beek which failed to clear a Fosu-Mesah cross but this was not enough to deny Palace 3 points to register 2 wins out of two games so far this season.
The same day saw Leeds united collect their first maximum points of the 2020/21 season as they defeated fellow newcomers Fulham in a 7 goals thriller.
Helder Costa and Mitrovic scored a brace each for Leeds united and Fulham respectively before Klich and Bamford registered their names on the score sheet for Leeds to win the match.
At the Emirates stadium, a late goal from Nketiah gave Arsenal the all-important victory over West Ham United in a highly contested scramble for three points.
The Gunners took the lead in the 25th minute through Lacazette when he headed home an Aubameyang cross but just before the break, Antonio equalised for West Ham united.
In the second half, both sides locked their defence and when everyone thought the two sides will share points, substitute Nketiah brought the difference when he scored in the 85th minute for Arsenal to win the match.
Another 7 goals thriller was witnessed at the Goodson park as Everton defeated 10 men Wes Brom 5-2.
Wes Brom were first to score through Diangana but Calvet-Lewis cancelled the visitors lead before Rodriguez scored his first premier league goal to give the home side the lead but just before the break, Wes Brom defender Gibbs was shown a red card after an off the ball incident with Rodriguez.
In the second half, Wes Brom quickly came back into the game when Pereira tied the match at 2-2 just after 3 minutes of play in the second half but a goal from Keane and a brace from Calvert- Lewis completed his hat-trick of the day to give Ancelloti and his men three points.
