Kagera Sugar head coach admits that Yanga Sports Club has shown an interest in his services since last season as they already offered him a contract. Mecky Mexime says he did not sign the contract yet because there are some things that need to be sorted out first before committing to them.
Mecky Mexime says “It is true I have their contract until now I neither return it nor sign it as well, as you know now I have a contract with Kagera Sugar, but if all things are settled I can sign their contract”.
He further added about the position, if they offer him to be an assistant coach or head coach.
“Generally in coaching life, I’m not looking at the position I have at the club, I’m more considering the benefit I get. As for now, I consider the most what Yanga Sports Club will give me, and what I am having now at Kagera Sugar”.
“I’m still young and learning , I’m not at the level of elite coachers like Mayanja and Mkwasa. So Kagera Sugar is not the end of my career, I’ll go to any club as long as my benefits are served.”
“It is a great opportunity to be teaching elite clubs like Simba Sports Club and Yanga Sports Club because they participate in big tournaments and as the coach, I’ll be getting huge exposure to learn. So being an assistant head coach is not my problem”.
Mecky Mexime has had great impact on Kagera Sugar this season. As they played 29 games and collected 41 points, thus they stay at 9 place, above Biashara United at 10th place.
