Gregory Nachipo and Vitumbiko Kumwenda have finally put pen to paper at Blue Eagles Football Club ending speculations of their exit from the Malawi Police Service sponsored team.
The players have each signed a 2 Years contract that will see them at the area 30 side until 2021.
Since their contracts ended in February this year, the two midfielders have been refusing to sign new contracts and speculations were that the Malawi under 23 player Gregory Nachipo was will leave Blue Eagles for Civil Sporting Club after his name appeared on the squad the club released to use in the 2019 season.
Blue Eagles Football Club vice General Secretary Sidine Chikoti confirmed of the two players committing their future with the Eagles.
“The duo of Gregory Nachipo and Vitumbiko Kumwenda have each signed a 2 years contract with Blue Eagles Football Club and as a club we are happy they are still with us.
“They were reluctant to sign contracts because they had some attachments they wanted to be part of their contracts and now we have agreed”, said Chikoti.
On the other hand, Civil Sporting Football Club General Secretary Ronald Chiwaula said they are not bitter with Nachipo staying put at Blue Eagles.
“Gregory Nachipo’s name appeared on the list of players Civil Sporting Club released to use in the 2019 season and we did that because then he had no contract with any other team as Civil Sporting Club we were in talks with him to join us and we had hope he was coming.
“Now that he has opted to stay at Blue Eagles, it’s his choice and that happens in the game of football”, said Chiwaula.
