Namungo Football Club head coach blames the wind for their latest results.

Hitimana Thierry, Namungo Football Club head coach says that their draw against Coastal Union on June 13th, 2020 at Mkwakwani Stadium was highly caused by the strong winds that troubled his players.

Namungo Football Club scored first through George Makang’a in the first 3 minutes and later Abeid Athuman nailed the second goal in the 17th minute and gave Namungo Football Club the lead throughout the first half.

Coastal Union scored their first goal in the 53rd minute through Issa Abusheshe and six minutes later in the 59th minute, Hance Masoud strikes to make the scores level. Up to the final whistle, the score remains 2-2 and thus Namungo Football Club splits points in an away game.

Following the result coach, Hitimana Thierry says it is the wind that worked against them nothing much.

“My players have been great throughout the match to get results, but in the second half things changed and we failed to defend our two goals advantage.

“The wind was strong and we played against it, unlike Coastal Union, the wind was blowing from their side, and thus they equalized because we failed to play our game under strong wind,” says Hitimana Thierry.

Namungo Football Club is at 4th place with 51 points from 29 Complete Vodacom Premier League fixtures and Coastal Union is at 5th place with 47 points collected from 29 complete fixtures as well.
