The rate of the spread of communicable and infectious diseases has greatly decreased in Tanzania according to the National Environment Management Council (NEMC).
This was said to be as a result of proper maintenance of the environment and enforcement of the rules and laws in place.
Speaking in Dar-es-Salaam, the CEO of NEMC Dr Samuel Gwamaka said that the provision of education on the environment during the 5th term of precedency. He also congratulated the people of Tanzania on being able to keep their country’s environment clean.
“During the past 5 years of presidency, NEMC has made available the education on how to treat the environment by organizing meetings with environmentalists and the public. According to the statistics, we have greatly succeeded in tackling the environment induced disease such as cholera. Its spread has greatly decreased…” Dr Gwamaka
