The super league of Malawi (SULOM) says the 2020/21 football season might kick off in November following the clearance they received from the government to resume training on 17 October.
At an annual general meeting (AGM) held on Saturday at the sunbird capital hotel in Lilongwe, the elite league governing body president Tiya Somba Banda hinted on its decision to resume the new season in November with the exact dates yet to be announced.
“As sulom we were involved in the roadmap for the restart of football as we involved the clubs to give us input on what has to be done so we were planning for all this as we need to fulfill this year’s calendar,” says Banda.
Football association of Malawi (FAM) added an icing on the cake with news that the competitions committee will meet on Sunday 27 September to decide on the future of different competitions which include the TNM super league, FISD challenge cup and Airtel top 8 cup for the 2020 season.
The 2020 season was hunted by the corona virus which led to the suspension of the league in March.
